Does it feel like a long weekend?
To be perfectly honest, it sure didn’t/doesn’t for me! I think it only feels like a long weekend if you have a Monday-Friday job and actually have this weekend off.
For the past um, well, 18 years of my life this past weekend meant going back to school. Specifically for the past 4, I would be leaving BC and heading back to Ottawa to tackle another semester. I cannot tell you how odd it feels not to be going back.
I oddly already miss it. The feeling of starting a fresh semester, seeing friends, buying books (as much as I was cringing at the time), I definitely miss it. I am so good at being a student – this real life thing on the other hand? Still need some time to adjust.
eat my sorrows away celebrate not going back to school, and by that I mean find an excuse to eat yummy treats, I indulged in a vegan apple cinnamon bun. I would have indulged if it weren’t vegan, of course.
That evening was balanced out with lots and lots of greens to make up for the sugar explosion I had during the day.
Look at what else I discovered at the Rootcellar (outdoor market) this weekend.
PUMPKINS! Wahoo, first of the season.
Not only that, but Starbees has brought back pumpkin spice lattes. Ahh man, perfection.
Naturally, when I saw this, I had to get one.
One of the highlights of my weekend was last night. I met up with some friends, we went to Clover point (right by the water), sat on the pebbled beach in between some logs, drank wine, saw shooting stars (I dieeed), chatted, admired the stars, and just had the simplest but most content night.
This is also, quite possibly, the blurriest photo on the planet but it was sooo dark that there was no avoiding it. The ol’ iPhone just couldn’t handle all the stars and darkness.
Today I worked, came home and whipped up Brittany’s awesome and super simple pizza dough, and then headed out for a run.
10 miles today which were fairly good. These views made it better.
Came home, showered, and feasted YUM.
Didn’t even have the patience to take decent photos.
Post shower, mouthful of pizza, starving = reality of running – daaaa cutest, let me tell ya.
